Our Garden of Eden ( dir. Mano Khalil / Switzerland / 2010 / 97’/ documentary)
It turns out that a micro-scale multicultural utopia is not a dream – it actually exists on the outskirts of Bern, Switzerland. Almost 150 allotments are inhabited by representatives of twenty different nations. They create a closed community, with its own structures and laws, consisting of individuals looking for an escape from the big-city life in the bosom of nature. The director not only documents this peculiar social organism, but also depicts the intriguing portraits of the individuals constituting it.

Ecopolis China (dir. Anna-Karin Grönroos / Finland / 2013 / 59’ / documentary)
Eero Paloheimo is a Finnish professor who postulates the need to change the model of city organisation to a more environmentally-friendly one. Despite huge motivation and devotion, his plan of building a green city in Europe has turned out to be impossible. An opportunity to make the utopian dream come true appeared in China, where businessman Zhang Yue is planning to build a self-sufficient tower-city, which shares similar ideological principles.
