L’Avventura (dir. Michelangelo Antonioni / Italy / 1960 / 143’ / feature)

A world cinema classic that brought recognition to Antonioni. It tells the story of a group of young people setting out on a cruise. After arriving on a desert island, one of the girls disappears. However, the plot serves just as a pretext for a tale about love. The complex, multidimensional characters are forced to re-examine their feelings in the wake of the depicted events. The innovative plot and the slow tempo make it possible to experience the same emotions as the characters. The film received the Jury Prize in Cannes for the best film of 1960.
